There has been a strong tradition of arts and culture practices that have evolved over the past decades. This has involved a wide range of arts processes in festivals, drama, visual arts, street, dance, performance, etc. This work culminated in the publication of a five year arts strategy by President Michael D Higgins in 2012 which sets out a plan for the provision of arts.
